Gaming Nail Art Ideas: From Pastel Mario to Neon Cyberpunk

I love nail art designs with a little personality, and gaming gives us so many cute details to work with. Tiny mushrooms, pixel hearts, lightning bolts – there is plenty to choose from without squeezing an entire game onto your nails.

For this collection, I wanted a mix of softer colours and bolder designs. Most of these ideas only need one themed accent nail, so you can keep the rest of the manicure as simple as you like.

Super Mario Nails in Pastel Colours

A little Mario detail looks surprisingly cute next to pastel pink, lilac or mint nails. I would choose a tiny mushroom, star or question block for the accent nail and leave the others plain. The softer colours give the familiar theme a slightly different feel.

Blue Nails with a Joystick Accent

For something simpler, try blue nails with a small black controller on one finger, finished with blue and green details. I like how the accent adds a gaming touch while keeping the whole set easy to wear. A glossy finish would look lovely here.

Minecraft Heart and Neon Swirls

A pixel heart on the ring finger – Minecraft inspired, black polish and neon swirls on the other nails – this one has a bit more attitude. The contrast is what I like most about it: a cute little heart surrounded by bright, swirling colour. You could use neon pink and green or mix in a little electric blue.

Sonic-Inspired Nails

Sonic gives us a good excuse to play with blue, yellow and white. A few gold rings or little speed lines would make cute details, alongside one Sonic-inspired accent nail. I would keep some nails plain blue so the small artwork has room to stand out.

Pikachu-Inspired Nails

I could not leave Pikachu out of this collection! Yellow nails with tiny red and black details make such a cheerful combination. Add a Pikachu face on one accent nail and a small lightning bolt on another, or keep the rest a soft milky white if you prefer less yellow.

Cyberpunk Nails

This is where I would go a little bolder. Think black or deep purple nails with neon pink and electric blue lines, tiny circuit patterns and a touch of chrome. I especially like this idea on longer nails, where there is more space for those fine details.

The pastel Mario set would be my pick for something cute, while the cyberpunk design is the one I would choose for a more dramatic look. You can also borrow just one small detail from any of these ideas and make it part of your usual manicure.
